Havdalah Concert by Adrienne Haan

We would like to invite you to Wroclaw on 31st of August for the Havdal concert of the great Luxemburg singer Adrienne Haan.

Adrienne Haan

Adrienne Haan, named the “First Lady of Cabaret” by Wolf Entertainment Guide in New York City and a “top-notch artist” by the Huffington Post, is one of the most electrifying singers, writers and producers of concerts and cabarets today. She has been an award-winning performer, touring steadily around the world with a diverse repertoire spanning the music of the 1920s and 1930s.

She excels in the styles of chanson, jazz, blues, klezmer and Broadway music, and also presents Hebrew songs and songs from various cultures and nations. She has been a guest at many festivals and has performed with the Cologne and Frankfurt Philharmonics, Jerusalem Symphony, Württemberg Philharmonie Reutlingen, WDR Symphony, Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks, Berlin Capital Dance Orchestra, among others. Her recent performances include concerts in the USA, Europe, Australia, China, Israel, Turkey and South America.

Tehorah

Tehorah, Hebrew for “pure,” is a poignant musical story of war, loss, hope, love and forgiveness. Composed of songs by Jewish composers and lyricists, sung in German, Yiddish and Hebrew. The Tehorah project is both a historical and poetic portrait and a sign of hope for peace among the nations. The concert was premiered at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Benjamin Schaefer

Benjamin Schaefer studied jazz piano and composition at the Cologne Conservatory. He was a member of the German Youth Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO). His concert tours have taken him to 26 countries on four continents. With the three ensembles he founded, he played hundreds of concerts in clubs and at festivals, and released nine albums. In collaboration with Deutschlandfunk, he recorded his first major album “Hive Mind” last year. He is a double winner at the Concours du Jazz Europeen in Avignon, was a scholarship recipient of the City of Cologne and the stART Bayer Kultur program, and has been awarded the prestigious Neuer Deutscher Kompositionspreis since this year. In addition to performing and composing, he teaches jazz piano at the Cologne Conservatory.

The event takes place in the framework of the 2019-2020 Luxembourg Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). It is sponsored by the Foundation Luxembourgeoise pour la Mémoire de la Shoah, the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture, and the Luxembourg Embassy in Warsaw
The concert has obtained the Honorary Patronage of the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Republic of Poland, H.E. Mr. Conrad Bruch, and of the Honorary Consul of Luxembourg in Lower Silesia, H.E. Mr. Krzysztof Bramorski.
