Ladies and Gentlemen – Members and Friends of the Polish – Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce,
The coming days will certainly be a time for many of us to reflect on a passing – difficult and challenging – year. But we already want to look into the future, planning the next activities. So let us look into the future together!
Unforeseen restrictions on practically all forms of business activity, with which the passing year surprised us, forced us to cancel many planned projects. Unfortunately, not everything can be done in a “virtual” form, and not everything, as the Chamber is just building its structure, we were prepared for.
Events with the participation of the Chamber, which managed to implement include, launched in March this year, a series of conferences “The city for longer …” devoted to urban architecture and its changes under the influence of young people. March conference, held in Sopot, was met with great interest, and subsequent meetings (unfortunately postponed due to COVID-19) will be held in Wroclaw, Gdansk, Poznan and Krakow. We will be accompanied by BaseCamp, a member of PLIG, and honorary patronage over the conference cycle has been taken by the Association of Polish Architects.
We are involved in the promotion and implementation of events of economic and scientific importance. The multi-branch economic mission of Polish entrepreneurs to Luxembourg is a particularly important undertaking for us. Due to the restrictions in force, the dates originally scheduled for 3 May and then for 12 November 2020 had to be cancelled. We hope to carry out this project, organized jointly with the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, in the spring of 2021.
We are also visible during national events under the institutional patronage of the Chamber: Business Development Forum and VIII Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship. We also respond to your needs by preparing a conference on the complex subject of compliance.
Of course, many of the planned events could not take place without the support of our partners. The National Chamber of Commerce, of which we have been a member since April 2020, provides you with access to a range of national and international services. Cooperation with the Lower Silesian Chamber of Commerce provides an opportunity to deepen cooperation with entrepreneurs from Lower Silesia. We are currently finalising talks with the International Group of Chambers of Commerce.
We also want to have a voice in issues that have a significant impact on the fair and sustainable conduct of business in Poland. We participated in consultations on legal solutions introduced in the crisis situation related to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Chamber was also represented during the meeting at the Ministry of State Assets, the subject of which were consultations on the reform of the Code of Commercial Companies. We have joined the Appeal of Lower Silesian Organizations of Entrepreneurs and Employers on the timely adoption of the European Union budget for 2021-2027.
We have not forgotten about charity activities. Together with the Embassy of Luxembourg in Poland, we donated 50 thousand zlotys for the conducted by the WOŚ Foundation “Program of Non-Invasive Breathing Support in Newborns”. Summing up the first year of activity of the Chamber I expressed hope that 2020 will be a year of prosperity and interesting events for us. It has certainly been a year full of surprising events and challenges. Therefore, we thank you for being with us and following us into the future in 2021.
Krzysztof Bramorski, President of the Board of the Polish-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce
